Support for eating difficulties, eating disorders and body image concerns
At BeKindToYourself, I offer individual CBT sessions and therapeutic support groups for people experiencing eating difficulties, eating disorders and body image concerns, online and in Hertfordshire.
The sessions are designed to help you understand and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours linked to eating difficulties, eating disorders and body image concerns, fostering a positive and sustainable recovery.
Individual CBT Sessions
Personalised one-to-one CBT therapy sessions tailored to your specific needs, focusing on effective strategies for managing and overcoming eating difficulties, eating disorders and body image challenges.
What the therapy offers:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Eating Disorders is a structured, goal-oriented intervention, often delivered over a number of individual sessions. Depending on your needs, CBT-E informed therapy may take place over approximately 20 to 40 sessions, allowing time to understand the difficulty, develop practical skills and support meaningful change.
Who it is for:
The treatment is tailored to each person’s specific needs and focuses on developing a portfolio of practical skills. These skills aim to reduce eating disorder symptoms, improve body acceptance, and decrease or eliminate compensatory behaviours. Ultimately, CBT works to support long-term change by helping individuals modify unhelpful thought patterns and develop a healthier mindset.
I adopt an integrative approach, incorporating techniques from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy within my interventions.
